  Trap, the second album of Dead Man Ray, appears to be more complex an album than the first opus of the band. And if Berchem was already a good and interesting disc, it was mainly written under the influence of pop music, or so it seems.8/

  The band was best known for their experimental way of making rock music: cutting & pasting song fragments next to eachother to produce one song. This methodology was used throughout the first two cd's (Berchem and Trap). For their third LP Dead Man Ray chose to 'renew' their sound and play a song in its entirety without experimenting with it.

  "Trap" is pitfall for ears, a black hole with a considerable sucking force (not a force that sucks considerably). For about two months, this CD hasn't let go of me. However, it certainly is no rosy "histoîre d'amour", there are too many elements on the cd that push you away. As if Dead Man Ray is saying, love me, but not too much.

  Dead Man Ray – Marginal Type: full cd – Released: Last Dead Man Ray CD released on Heavenhotel. basically a collection of outtakes from Trap, with some 20 second bizarre stuff on it.
